What does the Acceleration Program include?
The acceleration training program aims to improve overall athletic ability. Running faster, jumping higher, increased coordination, flexibility, functional strength, and core strength will help any athlete perform better no matter what sport(s) they participate in. The Acceleration program utilizes our specially designed plyometric and Super Treadmill protocols, developed through 25 years of research.
Every athlete will participate in a pre-assessment to gauge their athletic ability and allow the trainers to adjust the program to maximize the results. At the conclusion of a program, the athletes will be assessed to measure athletic improvements
What does the A.I. Elite program include?
The Acceleration Iowa Elite program is the ultimate option for athletes of all abilities, age 5th grade and older. Along with the standard Acceleration program, athletes will also participate in a strength training program administered by CrossFit Des Moines. The strength program is specially designed functional training focusing on body weight exercises and proper weight lifting technique, making it an appropriate program for younger athletes. Sessions are two hours long (one hour of Acceleration and one hour of CrossFit). The Elite program is only offered at the Urbandale location, Monday-Thursday at 4:30. Athletes should schedule their Acceleration session either before or after the CrossFit session.
Should I buy sessions or do a monthly contract?
The 18 session program is a great option for athletes that have a limited amount of time to complete their training, or will have a hard time committing to at least two sessions per week. For those that have more time to train consistently, one of the monthly programs may be a better fit. Examining the calendar can help parents and athletes determine how many total sessions may be completed before the sports season begins. In general, for athletes that are able to train consistently for at least 3 months, the monthly programs are more economical.
How do we schedule appointments?
Scheduling appointments is very easy and extremely flexible. More often than not, athletes or parents will schedule their next session upon completing their training hour. You may also call the facility to schedule a time that is convenient to train. You do not need a schedule for the entire program, as we work around your busy schedule. For example, you may want to schedule Monday at 5:30, Wednesday at 3:30, and Friday at 4:30 one week and schedule Tuesday at 3:30, Thursday at 5:30 and Saturday the next.
To begin training, click the Red Sign Up Arrow at the top of this page. All of the paperwork and payment information can be completed online. Once completed, call the facility to schedule the first appointment.
We train athletes of all ages and abilities. Beginning between 7-9 years old, we work with those just getting involved in sports all the way up to the serious athlete at the collegiate and professional levels.
Will my child wok in a group or one-on-one with a trainer?
Training sessions at Acceleration Iowa are conducted in small groups (4-6 athletes per trainer on average). The program is tailored to each individual insuring that each athlete receives the coaching and intensity to get the most our of their training.
